Festival de la Bajada, Colombia IDF World Cup
After four years racing in the National Park of Bogota, the race track has been moved to Sibaté, Colombia on a much more challenging and intense course. The start line sitting at 3100m is the third highest starting line next to Tarma, Peru and Pikes Peak, Colorado. With speeds up to 85km/hr, four lengthy slides on a course of 2km over 1:50 seconds the new course proves to be of world cup level testing the limits of riders with every run.
With the luck of chance, on our last free-ride round of the day a suitably speedy car and driver of an unknown name rolled up to the start line and agreed to film a raw run. I trust you will enjoy this gem of a road.
With four rounds of qualifying I was able to hold the top time and a gap of 2 seconds with other light and technically skilled riders such as Byron Essert and Jimmy Riha just behind.
